Middle School Representative Role
Middle School Class Representatives (Reps) serve within the PTO as a liaison between the parents of one grade and the PTO Board and committees. The Class Reps for each grade work with the PTO Middle School VP to recruit chairs and volunteers for class-specific activities and committees (e.g., Spaghetti Supper, 7th Grade Play, 8th Grade Graduation). Class Reps provide PTO-related communication to parents in the grade. Class Reps must use the class rep email account for all communication to the PTO, parents, school administration and teachers, and copy the Middle School VP on those communications. Middle School Class Reps are required to attend monthly PTO meetings or to provide relevant updates to the PTO Middle School VP ahead of each meeting. Middle School Class Reps are not required to organize events for the grade and are not involved in the use and disbursement of funds raised by the class. Middle School Class Reps should not be involved in planning any school-related events (e.g., field trips) with teachers. In line with the PTO Room Parent policies, class lists (including contact information) cannot be distributed or shared. If a MS Class Rep receives a request or concern from a teacher or parent, they should pass it to the PTO Middle School VP for review and determination of any action. Commitment: This position can be up to a four-year commitment. Class Reps will initially be voted in by the PTO Board.

Middle School Class Treasurer Role
Middle School Class Treasurers serve within the PTO to track the funds raised and spent in Middle School in accordance with the Middle School Fundraising Policy. They must keep a detailed record of funds raised and a detailed, up-to-date budget in a shared document with the PTO Treasurer. The MS Class Treasurer works with the PTO Treasurer, the MS VP, and MS event chairs (e.g., Spaghetti Supper Chairs, 7th Grade Play Producers, and the 8th Grade Graduation Chairs) to budget for and distribute funds in accordance with PTO and 501(c)(3) guidelines for those events. The MS Class Treasurer or PTO Treasurer maintains possession and use of the debit card and checkbook associated with funds raised by the class. Commitment: This position is intended to be a four-year term from 5th to 8th grade for continuity. The Class Treasurer will initially be voted in by the PTO Board.
