April is the Month of the Military Child Each April, we recognize the sacrifices and service of children whose parents are members of the military. At Carlisle Public Schools, we are proud to have students in both our Elementary and Middle Schools with parents who are currently serving on active duty, as well as many whose parents are veterans.
One special way we honor these students is by celebrating Purple Up! Day on April 15. On this day, communities across the country wear purple to show their support for military children. Why purple? The color purple symbolizes support for all branches of the military—it’s a combination of Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue. We invite all students and staff to wear purple on Tuesday, April 15th as a way to say thank you and show support for our military-connected students. Let’s show them that Carlisle cares!
