The Prom musical: (FREE Open Dress Rehearsal)
Council on Aging Activity Tuesday, May 7 at 4:30pm: Concord Carlisle High School (CCHS) The CCHS Student Theatre Company invites the Carlisle 60+ community to their FREE dress rehearsal of The Prom. The Prom School Edition tells the story of an Indiana high school girl who is prohibited from bringing her girlfriend to the prom and a group of eccentric Broadway musical theater “has-beens” who storm the town in an earnest yet misguided attempt to fight the injustice. These musical captures all the humor and heart of a classic musical comedy with a message full of love and acceptance.

SpeakOUT Pride Month Panel Discussion
Tuesday, June 4th at 7 pm: Gleason Library Hollis Room June is Pride Month and it’s a great time to shine a spotlight on LGBTQ+ lives. SpeakOUT Boston has been telling the stories of LGBTQ+ people for over 50 years. Since 1972, SpeakOUT volunteers have shared stories in an engaging way and fostered dialogues within schools, colleges, businesses, faith communities, nonprofit organizations, and more. Join us on Tuesday, June 4, 7:00pm for a panel of speakers from SpeakOUT to celebrate Pride Month and to raise awareness about current issues for the LGBTQ+ community. SpeakOUT’s motto is “Ask Us Anything” and there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask their own questions in an interactive Q&A. Mercury Stardust: Virtual Author Talk and Q&A
Gleason Library Virtual event, Thursday, June 20th, 7 p.m. Zoom From TikTok stardom to full-blown author, join us virtually on June 20th at 7:00 PM as we welcome famous trans handywoman, Mercury Stardust! The Rowley Public Library, in conjunction with 50+ other libraries state-wide, is proud to present an author talk & moderated Q&A with Mercury herself. Mercury is the acclaimed author of “Safe and Sound: A Renter Friendly Guide to Home Repair” and has also dedicated her time to helping people on TikTok reclaim their independence through home improvement. As an out and proud non-binary trans feminine person, Mercury has also used her platform to help raise over $2 million for trans healthcare.
Presented with the support of the Friends of Gleason Public Library in partnership with the Rowley Public Library and other area libraries. This program is intended for people ages 13+ and registration is required.
THE STONEWALL GENERATION: CREATING INCLUSIVITY FOR LGBTQ ELDERS
Wednesday, June 26 at 2:00pm: Cameron Senior Center, Westford MA Council on Aging Activity: Dr. Jane Fleishman will share stories of fearless elders in the LGBTQ community who came of age around the time of the Stonewall Riots of 1969.
