PTO Faculty & Staff Grants Committee

The Carlisle PTO Faculty & Staff Grants Committee is formed each year and includes the following members:
Grant Evaluation Process
The PTO Board votes to determine how much funding will be available for each grant cycle. Once the amount of available funding is determined, the PTO notifies teachers that the grants process is open. Grant applications are usually due to the Grants Committee Chair in mid-October. The Grants Committee meeting follows soon thereafter. Remaining funds from the Fall Grants Committee meeting may be rolled over and amended to offer a second grant opportunity early in the winter semester.
The Committee takes the following criteria into consideration when evaluating grant applications: curriculum fit, alignment with district goals, number of students impacted, whether alternative financial sources are available, whether previous grants have been awarded providing the same or similar opportunity, and finally, the long term impact of the investment. Some grants are funded in full, some grants are partially funded and other grants do not receive funding.
The Committee presents their recommendations to the PTO Board. Once approved by the PTO Board, the list of grant awards is sent to the School Committee for approval before grants are awarded to applicants. All awarded grants are publicized on the PTO website, PTO News and on the PTO bulletin board at the school. The goal of the committee is to get the funding out as soon as possible.
